It was our absolute pleasure to shoot Gavan & Lucretia's wedding in November last year. Gavan is the pianist with DejaGroove, a super cool wedding band based in Sligo. Gavan & Lucretia are such a fun couple and their wedding was wonderfully original. They had a civil ceremony in the Radisson BLU in Sligo. This was our first wedding to shoot with our Canon 7D DSLR with a 28mm Prime lens. More lenses en route for Pink Lime, we love shooting on the DSLR!!

Scuba Divers Tilly Haining & Clive Hughes got married in Enniscrone Church on the legendary date 11/11/11 this year. After lots of beach photo-shoot fun, they returned to Enniscrone's main street to celebrate in The Ocean Sands Hotel. Karl Keaney was photographer on the day, and the band were Raindance.

The sun shone in the afternoon allowing for a gorgeous photo shoot alongside crashing waves on a very secluded cove on the coast of Mayo. The super chilled Grace-Anne McCann & Gavin Cantwell got married in Coolaney on September 9th this year. Sinead Conway sang so fabulously in the church, and the sun came out for a great photo shoot along the river in Coolaney with photographer Anthony Leonard. We're taking a few days to start the chop on our Quickcrop videos about growing your own veg! Klaus Laitenberger (below) is presenting in these videos, and they'll be launched in the spring 2012! Very exciting, as they'll be a quick step-by-step guide to growing veg for our temperamental Irish gardens.

Back from our Honeymoon with a Canon 7D DSLR!

Hi there folks! Please excuse our absentee-ism of late, we've been off getting married and are just back from our honeymoon in California and New York... And guess what, we got a 7D Canon SLR on our trip! So, the fab news is that we'll be going very cinematic in our filming style from late October onwards! We will have beautiful depth of field shots, and we're soooo excited about it! It's all about the lens from here on in! For samples of stuff shot on the 7D, just google it, there's loads on there..
For those of you waiting for your DVDs from end August and September, we're setting up the editing studio this evening and should be back on track by tomorrow eve :-)

The lovely Orla Feeney and Brendan Anderson got married in Rathcormack Church on August 12th, and followed on to Harvey's Point for their wedding reception. Though the rain was non-stop in the morning, the guys kept on smiling, and myself & Colin Gillen (Framelight Studios) still got 10mins of outdoor photo shooting on the grounds of Harveys. Deja Groove were rocking up the dancefloor as we left ;-)

Ethel & Patrick's Wedding Highlights! July 15, 2011

The very lovely Ethel Jinks and Patrick Gallagher got married in Ballinacarrow church Sligo and had their sunflower-filled reception in the Diamond Coast Hotel in Enniscrone. Colin Gillen of Framelight Studio was on photography duty for the day. Eileen McDevitt was singing and doing the church music, and DejaGroove were rocking up the place when I left!

Mairead & Connor's Wedding highlights | July 9, 2011

Mairead McDonagh met her now-husband Connor Waring at Slane '07 during the Rolling Stones set! We filmed their marriage last month in Geevagh Church, Sligo, and then trotted horse-drawn-carriage style and limo-ed it to the Landmark Hotel where they threw a fabulous reception for all their guests. The Stormers performed the music for the night, and Tony Campbell was photographer of the day.

So, with only 6 weeks to go until my own wedding, the plans are hotting up nicely. I'm off on my hen this weekend, which is I'm super excited about. Dublin is the destination, with shall be trickled with some some Foggy Dew pints, make up sessions, shopping, champers bubbles, french restaurant dining and wrapping up with some boogying in the POD Saturday night!

We've most our wedding suppliers booked at this stage..
The Venue is one our favourites in Sligo, Markree Castle, for all it's olde world charms, it's here we'll have our civil ceremony and partying shenanigans. I'm getting my dress from the legendary Ray Lowbridge of Events by Ray Michael. Ann Young is doing all the girls n mum's make up :-) Our photographer is the very creative Eric Savoie from Savo Photography and we have Gavin from Dreamcatchers Productions shooting the wedding for us, and we'll edit it ourselves later in the year. The Oddsocks Revival are playing for us at the wedding, and we can't wait as they're just fabulous fella's and we know them a long time. My wonderful sister-in-law Olga is doing our wedding bouquets for us, she is well into her flowers, so we're in good hands there.

Now let me see, what else, oh yes Eamon from Tiger print printed our invites, while my own brother who's a graphic designer designed them, see pic! Oh and for our honeymoon, we're heading for the Golden State of California!!
I'll keep adding bits in the next while, as they come into my head, for the meantime, we're off to Markree for our food and wine tasting YUM yum.. !

Catherine Burrows married Vincent Casey on July 1st this year. They had their ceremony in St Josephs church in Sligo, and followed on to the Sligo Park for reception partying! A more chilled out couple I've never filmed! Catherine is a very old friend of mine and also my masseuse, she is brilliant at quelling those aches that sometimes build from carrying the video gear on shoots! Massage therapy on the Mall is her wonderful business. Scott Reid was their photographer on the day, also a good friend of the couple.

Colleen Henry & Declan Conneely's Wedding day highlights 24.6.2011

Colleen Henry, from Massachusetts USA & Declan Conneelly from the Aran Islands but living in the US, came home to Galway to get married on June 24th. They wed in the beautiful Claddagh Church on the quays in Galway city, where music and song shone throughout the ceremony. All guests then went back to the Westwood Hotel in Newcastle for a lavish reception. Despite the torrential rain, Colleen's smile was set for the day, and her Groom Declan was beaming all day too. What a sweet, and chilled out couple! Photographer on the day was Mike Patterson, who always contributes to it being a nice relaxing day...

A beautiful fusion of Glasgow & Sligo, Martin & Lucy got married in Carraroe Church in Sligo and celebrated the day away in the Sligo Park Hotel. Smiles were plentiful from all angles and the bagpipes were playing. John Reynolds shot the photos and a great day was had!

Hi Caroline,

We received the wedding DVD over the weekend. We had all our friends over for a BBQ yesterday and had the premiere! Was absolutely fantastic, both of us were delighted with it, as were all our friends!!

My initial expectation of a wedding video was a shaky amateur job but your video couldn't be further from that, totally professional job. The content captured the day perfectly and the soundtrack was amazing.

Thanks again for all your help on the day!! Sure we'll see you at Hannah's wedding in a few years :)

Hi Caroline, we just want to thank you so much for our wedding dvd. We watched it last night and we were absolutely blown away by the quality, tastefulness and attention to detail. It was beautifully put together and you captured every stage of the day perfectly. As I said to you in a previous email so many people have commented on your friendliness and professionalism on the day and how totally unobtrusive the camera was. I couldn’t believe some stages that you’d shot- I hadn’t even noticed you there! I was actually worried that I hadn’t captured a lot of small things in the photos and I regretted little things like forgetting to take a menu from the hotel, but you had every aspect covered in exquisite detail!

I had been unsure about having a videographer on the day, but after seeing your fabulous work, it was the best decision of all!

Prior to our big day you organised an engagement shoot with our baby girl Jessica, which is amazing and we shall treasure it forever. Weddings, BV Expo in London, Uganda...!

Between shooting, editing, attending Broadcast Video Expo's, and going to Africa (!) life is really busy at the moment!
I've been in attending the BV Expo in London this week, as we're on the hunt for fab new camera equipment. Some wonderful choices are currently being made on new gear, watch this space and I'll update when we're more confirmed up.
In the meantime, we're going to Uganda to work in an orphanage for 2 weeks. As the business has been so successful the past two years, we wanted to give something back! Of course, being a filmmaker at heart, I will be filming over there and chopping together a film when I get back!

Joanne and Enda are getting married Saturday Feb 12th, Valentines Weekend, in the exquisite Solas Lough Eske Castle in Donegal. They wanted an engagement video which would capture their beautiful little Jessica, as she won't be at the whole wedding as 7month old's tend to fade quite early on in the eve! We shot around their house and area in the lovely peaceful and hilly Ballygawley. This is officially my first engagement shoot to do!
It was so much fun that I think I'll be doing more!

Caroline arrived the morning of the wedding and she was so professional you wouldnt even know she was there. She instantly gets on with her work - knowing what she needs to do. It was lovely to have a lady doing the video and Caroline makes you feel relaxed so as to ensure she gets you 'at your best!'. Caroline picked up on small detail, that looks great on the video. She also had good ideas and technics which enhance the video. The DVD arrived very quick and was waiting for us when we returned from honeymoon. I am so happy that i decided to have a video as when you watch it back you realise that there are so many parts of your wedding that as the bride and groom you dont get to see! John & Louise got married in Killavil on September 11th this year. Certainly the coolest car I've shot all year, and definitely the most fun first dance too! Though it rained hardcore at certain points throughout the day, it never wiped the smile off these guys faces, they were a fab couple to shoot.
Photographer on the day was John Reynolds, my first time to shoot with him, and hopefully not the last, as he's brill to work with :-) The Landmark Hotel was, the perfect reception venue for these guys, with Trish helping out in full force as usual, even taking on some choreography, for added entertainment! Legendary!

Martha and George got married on July 31st in a very pretty setting in Keash, the church was neatly tucked in under the hills; there was a little river flowing by and lots of flowers about. The editing on the dvd is superb...filmlike...quirky...imaginative...unique and original. The highlight section is so well put together,,,caroline helped us with our music selection and it is just excellent also. Fiona & Brian got married in Kilronan Castle July 23, 2010. They had a civil ceremony in the castle, followed by a gorgeous wedding reception afterwards. Fab couple to shoot and hang around with for the day, really sweet and super easy-going. Great style at the wedding also!! The Photographer on the day was Colin Gillen of Framelight Studios, Sligo, always a pleasure to work with.

We really cannot thank Caroline enough for the fabulous DVD she put together for us. From start to finish, every moment was captured in such a creative and artistic way. When I began planning the wedding I was a little apprehensive about having a DVD as I was afraid if would make me nervous or self-conscious – now, I can’t believe I actually considered not having one! From the morning of the wedding, when Caroline arrived and after meeting the family, she went straight to work and we wouldn’t even have known she was there! We continued to get ready as normal and Caroline caught all the little moments on film – I must say, it was also lovely to have a female videographer when getting ready! We were having our ceremony and reception at the same location so Caroline went and shot the boys getting ready too, this was a lovely bonus.
One particular part I loved was at our drinks reception, Caroline filmed guests chatting and mingling in different areas and it was lovely for us to see this, because on the day, as bride & groom, you miss lots! Caroline also captured all the little details that we worked so hard on, on the build-up to the wedding, so it is lovely to have this on film.
It was such a lovely treat to arrive home from Honeymoon after a long journey, and our DVD was waiting for us! Both families got together and we had great fun remembering all the lovely moments of the day…and of course there were a few tears! This is what is special about the DVD though, Caroline really managed to capture the atmosphere of the day.
We picked our music and could believe how Caroline placed all pieces so perfectly to suit every moment. I must also mention the video messages, I would recommend anyone to opt for this feature, it is so funny to look back on and you have it forever!
If there are any couples out there who are unsure about getting a DVD, I urge you to do so, and not only that, pick ‘Pink Lime Video’!! My sister is getting married at Christmas and she is so happy Caroline is available to create her DVD too. We are so thankful to Caroline for giving us a keepsake from our wedding that we will cherish forever. Caroline is so professional, very creative and artistic and has a great eye for detail.

Film Premiere this Friday in Sligo Cinema

The film I've been working on "Seeing the Hidden" is being premiered this Friday in Sligo Cinema at 12 noon as part of the Bealtaine Festival 2010.. almost there on the editing. Very excited I must say;-) It's been such a wonderful experience making these film shorts.. I've met some really interesting folk in the county of Sligeach.. We've been invited into homes, gardens, onto boats, into schools and up mountains.. all in days work!

I've been knee deep in heavy editing the past couple of weeks... Having finished shooting the half hour film 'Seeing the Hidden' for Sligo Arts office's Bealtaine Festival, it's cracking on with the intense editing that's starting to turn my eyes (and brain) blurry! Getting there though, and the cinema premiere is next Friday May 7th... Working with Poet Demot Healy, Writer Maura Gilligan, Visual Artist Catherine Fanning and photographer James Fraher on this project. Fabulous team!!
More info to follow in a day or so!
For now, it's more chopping on Monday morning...

Awards night!

I was delighted to receive my certificate at the awards ceremony on Monday night which displays my business as one of Ireland's Top 100 Wedding Suppliers as voted for by the Brides and Grooms of weddingsonline.ie. Being shortlisted as one of the top videographers in the country is definitely a huge bonus and great progress for my first year in business.
Big ups & congrats to Wedding Coordinators Nicky & Deirdre (above, right) from Cromleach Lodge who brought home an award for Best wedding venue in Connaught, also to Patricia Lynch who won Wedding Coordinator of the year for the Landmark Hotel in Carrick on Shannon. To meet Eamon Crosby & Emma Killian from the Bentley Boys was also a pleasure, and the Kilronan Castle gang, and Lynette from Little Daisy flowers.
Onwards and upwards for 2010 folks! I'm almost booked out for the year already, only a couple of weekends left :-)

After a heavy period of editing throughout January, I've just enjoyed a great week off, with plenty of relaxing, a massage, a much-needed new car purchase, and now I'm getting myself ready for Monday coming... The Weddingsonline.ie Top Irish Wedding Suppliers Awards ceremony is on. Frankly sinatra are due to entertain, along with Bill Cullen who is giving a talk. Should be an interesting night indeed. Well excited!

Laoise Forkan married Alan Kelly on Dec 29th '09 in Rathcormack Church followed by a fine Christmassy reception in the Radisson Blu Sligo... These are their wedding day highlights put to a song of their choice, a classic... Gorgeous couple and full of ease and craic on the day. Their photographer was Colin Gillen, who works with tonnes of ease and calm on the day... Pleasure to work with.

I hugely enjoyed shooting a fabulous and very glamorous wedding yesterday. Mark and Roisin got married in Markree Castle. I shot the wedding for Shane of Areaman Productions; worked with uber-pro, fun and pleasant photographer Peter Evers and his lovely wife Susie; got to soak up all the interesting beauty of Markree Castle... and as a bonus I got to shoot on borrowed gear, the Sony HD PMW-EX1... Hmmm the future looks bright!

Hey, thanks for all who came over to me for a chat at the Radisson Wedding fair last week. Unfortunately the projector screen wasn't working to full effect and therefore I couldn't display my work on it. Oh well, I still had the TV flatscreen on my stand, so it wasn't too bad. Met at least 3 of my clients for this year... and also met lots of potentials for next year, and this year. Also, got my first 2011 booking! Great stuff!

I'm so delighted to have gotten through to Ireland's Top 100 Wedding Suppliers list as voted for by brides and grooms through WeddingsOnline.ie. Pink Lime Videos now go forward in the judging process, throughout Jan and the winners will be announced at an awards event on Feb 15th at the Crowne Plaza, Dublin. Exciting stuff! Fingers crossed...

Snowy times...

Four Christmas weddings down, and one to go. I must say the snow has been so fabulous to work with! Though, lethal on the roads, so often scary as! I got stuck in the gorgeous Lough Rynn on Monday... the road on the way in was a glass of ice, so skidding and sliding all over the road was a must. Ouch!
Yesterday I was in the Radisson BLU SLigo for Laoise Forkan and Alan Kelly's wedding. They were so chilled out and lovely wot work with, though it was sooooo cold for them. Photo shoots were limited! Deja Groove played played in the evening, and were, as usual, great fun. Love these guys! Always get a good laugh and get the crowd going!

Christmas wedding time!

I'm gearing up for 5 weddings over the Christmas period... All kicks off this Friday in Cloone, Co. Leitrim with a reception in Cromleach Lodge in South Sligo... next Monday in Ballyshannon and Harvey's Point Hotel, and then after Christmas we're back in Leitrim, Sligo and Roscommon...
Such a beautiful time of year to get married too, crisp, fresh and most importantly.. Christmassy!!

Here's the highlights from Helena and Darren's Wedding day on October 23rd. They were legends to work with. We'd a brilliant day and the rain even stayed away until we all got into the cosy hotel foyer, where mulled wine was aflowing... The hotel Kilmore is a really nice spot, and I must say the staff were amongst the most helpful I've ever come across..

I attended NWX 09 today and it was very worthwhile indeed, from a networking point of view. Met lots of really nice folk including Photographer Colin Gillen, Jeff Kay of JDK Design, Annette Tierney of JEL, Ciara Walsh who is researching entrepreneurship and innovation in the North West, Michelle Henry from Alcove jewellery, Martina Henry from Koko Latte and Stephanie Pawula from Itchy Feet.. Many many others were there, but getting chatting to everyone was just impossible.

Ok, so it's finally time I got my blog onboard and live. I've been putting this off since last February as weddings and other video work had just absorbed all my computer time instead! But as November is my month for working more on the marketing side of the business, I'm finally here... I'm finally posting a blog....

The aim is to keep it relatively fresh and add something new at least once a week! Here goes...! Bare with me for a bit!
